To Pn Chong SL - Thank you

I remembered the first economy lesson, we had it at the Lecture Hall, everyone was talkative and noisy, no one was in a mood to study. When you first entered class, I thought that you looked rather young. I was thinking that: Wow.. We are having such a young teacher who is going to teach economy. I remembered during the first few lessons, I would sit at the back of the Lecture Hall so that you won't be able to see, but somehow you were too observant. I couldn't escape.

I remembered, one day at the canteen, it was right after economy lesson, school was over, I met you at the canteen with your daughter, little did I realise that I taught your daughter when I worked as a temporary teacher after SPM in Davidson. It is really a small, small world. When I got to know this, I felt the pressure. I didn't know why, be later got used to it.

During the first few lessons, I did not really enjoy economy. Not because you weren't good but because it was a new subject to me. Everything was so new, the school environment, the rules and also the lessons. We only had lessons for one week or so, and it was the 1st semester break. The bond wasn't form yet back then.

After the holidays, there was teacher's day celebration. I was the monitor back then, I remembered I gave you a bar of chocolate on behalf of the class. Your first expression was: Hey, the chocolate melted already. I was speechless then, I didn't know what to say. Well, it was just a simple thank you although it was only the beginning of the school term.

Later, after a few lesson, I don't know exactly when, I started enjoying economy. I started to sit in front. Your lesson somehow grew more and more interesting. I somehow just grew to like economy. The examples you used were so random, it ranged from your son to shop houses and factories. You were able to use all these example to make economy more relevant and it was easier to understand with all those real life examples.

You told us that you prepared your lessons till late at night and spent more that two hours to prepare your lessons before you entered our class as it was the first year you're teaching Form 6 economics. You also had extra classes to revise what you have taught with us. Although there were only a few of us who attended your class, you never failed to conduct those extra classes.

In class, there were always some boys who asked questions to distract you, though you looked irritated but you were patient and always smiled. You would answer their question if it is related to the topic you are teaching. Those boys spiced up the economy lesson each time. They were always up to mischief.

Later, during one of the extra classes, you told me that you were a Christian. I was glad to know that. I then knew the reason why you were such a wonderful teacher. You prepared questions and notes for us without fail. You were dedicated to your job. You came to school in order to finish the syllabus although you were sick. Thank you teacher... : )

When I got to know that you will be leaving to further your studies, I was sadden. You were such a excellent teacher. Later, I realised that I not only strive to want to do well in my economy during the exam so that I won't let you down but I have also learned to like you. I always looked forward to your lessons.

It is truly God's blessing that I have you as my teacher. You have really been a blessing to all the students you taught. All the effort, love, care, time and dedication you have put in will always be appreciated and remembered.

As you further your studies, I wish you all the best. May you continue to be a blessing to others wherever you may be. As you have been a blessing to me and all the students, I hope that we too have been a blessing to you.

I will always remember your sweet and jovial face. Oh ya, and what your always said: sangat panas la, eh you all tak panas ar? After reading you blog and listening to all your lessons, i realise that I didn't waste my 11 years of studying Chinese. You made me realise the importance of Chinese and I have actually grown to love Chinese more although I'm in Form 6 now. Thank so much...

May the Lord continue to use you as a tool to bless others. May He continue to reveal His will for you in your life.

-Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be granted unto you.... -

THANK YOU TEACHER... YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART.
