Pelancaran Hari Merdeka

Today, 29 August 08. my school had the pelancaran Hare Merdeka. I think all the school are doing so too.

The pelancaran Hari Merdeka started with singing the national anthem, maju dan sejahtera and school song as usual. Later, each of the respective races performed their permainan tradisional or traditional music. The Malays and Indians performed the traditional music while the Chinese performed the Chinese yo yo. Oh ya, the also release 51 birds as a symbol of our country's 51th Merdeka.

Later there was class performance. They sang lagu patriotik. 4K's performance was really cool with the music accompaniment and the different tempo for the song. Two thumbs up. The rest of the classes was good too, each was unique in their own way. Great job to all of the classes who performed. Ya, the sketch was quite funny. After that, the principal led the students in the singing of two patriotic songs; Jalur Gemilang and Tanggal 31.

Pity the Form 5s' and Upper 6, they had to go for their trials in the middle of the event. All the best to F5s' and U6s' in your trial, hope that your hard work will prosper.

Later after the pelancaran was over, all the lower 6 girls had to stay back as some of them were still breaking the Girls' Rule. So, we had to brief them about the girls' rule and their punishments. Some of the girls actually ask questions like why should they wear camisoles. Anyway, hope that the girls will not break the rules anymore.

After school, I went to CF. I actually look forward to go for CF and Chapel, and Wednesday is my favourite day of the school week. This is because there's Chapel and no accounts class. I'm actually quite worried about the subject mentioned above because it is no that easy the comprehend, but I'm really happy cos I'm able to do penilaian kos and another one which I forgots its name...whatever. I'm picking up the subject as the days goes by...hope that I'll be able to do well for my accounts in this coming exam.

Ya, in CF we sang two songs. Later we played two games. One of the game was really meaningful. We were supposed to fill up one side of the paper with our signatures... totally covered, then we were asked to erase it. The meaning behind this game is that each signature represents one sin which we have committed and no matter how we try to correst it there will still be stains and marks left behind( that is no matter how clean you erase the paper, there will still be pencil marks left behind). Therefore, we need the Lord Jesus Christ to come into our lives and cleanse us making us clean and spotless again(turning over to the other side of the paper, and its clean).

Life'a a brief candle
live each day to the fullest, glorifying God in everyway.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fail.

  • Jesus said:" I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one cometh unto the Father execpt by Me. John 14:6

FAMILY - Father And Mother I Love You

A Stranger Passed By

I ran into a stranger as he passed by, "Oh, excuse me Please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too; Wasn't even watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said good-bye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My daughter stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked her down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
She walked away, her little heart was broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use,
But the children you love, you seem to abuse.

Look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers she brought for you.
She picked them herself: pink, yellow and blue.

She stood quietly not to spoil the surprise,
and you never saw the tears in her eyes.
"By this time, I felt very small,
and now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by her bed;
"Wake up, little girl, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
She smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Daughter, I'm sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
She said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."
I said, "Daughter, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.

"Are you aware that: If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for couldeasily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family --an unwise investment indeed.

So what is behind the story?

You know what is the full word of family?FAMILY= (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER, (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU!

Isn't that neat? Fill life with love and bravery and we shall live a life uncommon.

Life's A Brief Candle....

I'll read this two stories earlier this afternoon and found it really meaningful. Hope that you'll enjoy it.

Encouragement
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his room-mate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Then unexpectedly, a sinister thought entered his mind. Why should the other man alone experience all the pleasures of seeing everything while he himself never got to see anything? It didn't seem fair. At first thought the man felt ashamed. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and he found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - that thought, and only that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running in. In less than five minutes the coughing and choking stopped, along with
that the sound of breathing. Now there was only silence-deathly silence.

The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take it away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped
himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would
have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue. . . . You can interpret the story in any way you like. But one moral stands
out: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy.

God's Coffee
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee.

In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee! "The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything."

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

> - < zzz.....

I actually woke up quite early today compared to the last two days when I woke up at 11am. I woke up at 9am. : p After waking up, I'm like still in a daze... *blur* *blur*

Later I received a SMS from a friend at 11am something, ya just woke up. So its normal what, to wake up at 11, no big deal. Since during school days must wake up at 5.30am, so now is sleep replacement. Ha ha....

Some new words that I learn:

  • noob
  • emo

I really dunno what to do right now, dunno what to blog, dunno why I'm blogging now. Too free I guess.. Won't be so free already cos from tomorrow onwards my hols are packed.... One camp after another... and will only be reaching home late Saturday afternoon.. then comes Sunday - church until 2pm. Then Monday school again. Haiz... The same old routine... Sure feel very lazy to get up.. Hope I won't be late. Dunno when to find time to do my maths hw which is piling up. Math paper 2 Chap 1 n 2 must pass up on Monday. Then there Math 1 chapter 3.1 to 3.6, that's the consequences of procrastinating which i'm very guilty of. Trying to change this. So after this school hols wanna make sure a finish all my hw on that day itself instead of the day before it needs to be handed up. Sometimes is not that I wanna purposely procrastinate but then there's so many things that need to be done, so really have to prioritise.

Ta da for now... Gonna do my maths hw before I forget and suddenly its Sunday night and then Monday (hey wait, Monday no math, that means I have an extra day : P )... Oops.. better not PROCRASTINATE..

Blur.. Teenage blues and lost..

I just finish reading one of my friend's blog and actually found out that he's a lonely and lost child. I never notice that earlier because he's always look happy like any other normal student. I'm not saying that he's not normal, in fact he is very normal, this is a phase that most teenager go through. But what I'm worried is that he may go in to a state of depression because in his blog he sounded really lost. I don't know whether its what his friend call it *emo*, but I don't think so because people don't write all this for no particular reason. I wouldn't say that he's DFA but he needs it.

This is one of the passage from our daily bread, found it really useful and encouraging. I hope that when the person above whom I'm referring to will find comfort from this passage and the Lord will speak to him through His Word.

Another Chance
Philemon 1:8-19
8Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do, 9yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus— 10I appeal to you for my son Onesimus,[a] who became my son while I was in chains. 11Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
12I am sending him—who is my very heart—back to you. 13I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am in chains for the gospel. 14But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous and not forced. 15Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back for good— 16no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a man and as a brother in the Lord.
17So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me. 18If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me. 19I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self.
Footnotes:
Philemon 1:10 Onesimus means useful.

[You] have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. —Colossians 3:10
For almost 100 years, a huge piece of flawed Carrara marble lay in the courtyard of a cathedral in Florence, Italy. Then, in 1501, a young sculptor was asked to do something with it. He measured the block and noted its imperfections. In his mind, he envisioned a young shepherd boy.

For 3 years, he chiseled and shaped the marble skillfully. Finally, when the 18-foot towering figure of David was unveiled, his student exclaimed to Michelangelo, “Master, it lacks only one thing—speech!”

Onesimus was like that flawed marble. He was an unfaithful servant when he fled from his master Philemon. But while on the run he came to know the Master Sculptor. As a changed man, he served God faithfully and was invaluable to Paul’s ministry. When Paul sent him back to Philemon, he commended him as one “who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to you and to me” (1:11). He asked Philemon to receive Onesimus back as a brother (v.16).
Paul knew what it meant to be given another chance after past wrongs (Acts 9:26-28). He knew personally the transformation God can accomplish. Now he saw it in the life of Onesimus. The Lord can chisel His image on our flawed lives and make us beautiful and useful too. — Albert Lee

Christ takes each sin, each pain, each loss,And by the power of His cross Transforms our brokenness and shame So that our lives exalt His name. —D. De Haan

Our rough edges must be chipped away to bring out the image of Christ.

To the person above, just remember that God has a reason for everything that happens and there's no coincidence. You can bring all your frustration, anger, lost, questions and in fact everything to the Lord in prayer. Really bring it to the Lord in prayer, surrender all your cares to Him, and experience His comfort.

Ya, you may say that everyone says tha same thing, pray..pray and pray.. So what right? Trust me, if you are reading this blog now, please take some time to slowly reflect on all your cares and surrender it totally to the Lord... and have faith in Him that He'll take care of it. You can be certain that you will feel the Lord's presence and a comfort that no one else can give.

Pls note that the "he" mentioned above is merely a subject refering to no one in particular and the subject may be a girl or a guy.
